Canadian and German Perspectives: Lessons Learned from Harmonizing Federal Carbon Pricing Policy

Presented by Transatlantic Climate Bridge and the Canadian Climate Institute

In the light of proposals surrounding a Climate Club and the role carbon pricing could play, this event will explore transatlantic learnings on the continuum of centralized carbon pricing approaches. Panelists will discuss the merits and challenges of harmonizing multilevel carbon pricing in Europe/Canada.

How is collective ambition realized via coordinated (sub)national efforts? What lessons can be learned from the Canadian Federal Backstop and the various carbon pricing frameworks within the EU in efforts to reach collective climate policy ambitions?
