Climate change is no longer a looming threat but a reality that is very much upon us.To move the needle, we need concrete commitments with measurable outcomes. Yet in many countries and across the OECD, indicators have not reached levels agreed upon in the Paris Agreement, and temperatures continue to rise above a manageable threshold.
This month’s COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference is a moment of reckoning. As UN Secretary General António Guterres pointed out in 2019, “the climate emergency is a race we are losing, but it is a race we can win,” even the most optimistic among us may wonder: does this hold true?
