Bryan Flannigan

Executive Director, Building Decarbonization Alliance

Bryan Flannigan is the Executive Director of the Building Decarbonization Alliance — an initiative of the Transition Accelerator.  He has more than three decades of leadership and consulting experience having helped governments, utilities, and businesses find technical, program, and policy solutions to reduce the emissions of the built environment. 

Prior to joining The Transition Accelerator, Bryan played executive and expert advisor roles with several of Canada’s leading energy and environmental consulting firms, including ICF International, Posterity Group, and Econoler.  In this capacity he led the design, implementation an evaluation of energy efficiency programs among Canada’s diverse program portfolios. He was Senior Manager of Operations at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities where he helped successfully launch and manage the Green Municipal Fund. His early career was built on a foundation of technical and engineering roles including Director of Technical Services at Del Management Solutions and Energy Engineer at Siemens Building Technologies.

Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, and is a Professional Engineer licensed in the province of Ontario. He lives and plays in Chelsea Quebec where you can often find him cycling, skiing, running and otherwise enjoying the Gatineau Park just outside of Ottawa.
