Connor MacDonald
Connor MacDonald has political and policy experience on both sides of the Atlantic. He is currently a law student at McGill University.
Prior to his current studies, M. MacDonald served as Policy Advisor to the Leader of the Opposition, Pierre Poilievre, working particularly on environment and energy policy. Preceding that experience, he was Head of Economics and Social Policy at Policy Exchange, Britain’s leading think-tank. He was also Chief of Staff to a Member of Parliament in Westminster. He has been involved in several political campaigns at the provincial and federal level.
M. MacDonald holds an MA and MPhil from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Blyth Cambridge Trust Scholar. His master’s thesis examined the political and economic relationship between the Canadian state, its natural resources sector, and climate policy. M. MacDonald is particularly interested in how Canada can leverage its comparative advantage in conventional and renewable energy to improve productivity and economic growth while reducing emissions.
