Mr. Marchetti joined the Embassy of France in August 2021 as Deputy Head of Mission.

He was Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of France in Canada from March 12, 2022 till September 2022.

Some notable career highlights: Desk officer at the Africa and Indian Ocean Directorate at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs ; Political Adviser at the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations in New York ; Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of France in Pretoria, South Africa; secondment to the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in Paris in the role of Deputy Director for Africa ; and head of the West Africa Branch of the Africa and Indian Ocean Directorate at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Marchetti is a graduate of the École supérieure des sciences économiques et commerciales and the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (IEP). He also holds a degree in accounting and finance and is a graduate of the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales, where he studied Swahili.
