Dr. Joel Krupa is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia. Jointly appointed in both the Faculty of Science and the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Joel’s expertise lies in energy studies – with a special emphasis on Indigenous-owned clean energy infrastructure, financing the clean energy transition, and clean energy policy. Prior to joining the ACET team, Joel completed another Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard Engineering, as well as degrees at the University of British Columbia, the London School of Economics, the University of Oxford, and the University of Toronto. His PhD thesis (entitled The Intersection of Renewable Energy Finance and Governance: Solutions to the Multi-trillion Dollar Challenges) was examined by supervisor climate scientist Danny Harvey and an interdisciplinary team of geographers, economists, and business professors.
