Scott Skinner

Scott Skinner is the President and CEO of the Clean Foundation in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Clean is a non-profit, non-governmental environment organization that works at the intersection of energy, education, and policy – all through the lens of climate change. Projects and programs support and enhance the fair transition to a low carbon economy and include professional and student internships, K-12 school programs, residential energy efficiency initiatives, coastal adaptation, and clean transportation, among others. Clean employs about 50 staff and supports over 100 students annually through workforce development initiatives. Clean is a partnership driven organization – most initiatives include national, provincial, municipal and First Nation governments, local community groups, the broader ENGO sector, and academia. Mr. Skinner is a member of the Nova Scotia Roundtable of the Environment and Sustainable Prosperity and co-chaired a recent review of provincial legislation; he sits on the Federal Sustainable Development Advisory Council as the representative for Nova Scotia; and, Mr. Skinner is on the Board of the investment fund Wind4All Communities. Mr. Skinner is a Nova Scotian with deep roots in the region, an alumnus of both Saint Mary’s and Dalhousie universities, a well-known speaker and leader, and enjoys spending time in Nature with his young daughter Sadie.
