Susannah Goshko

Susannah Goshko is a career Diplomatic Service officer who took up her appointment as High Commissioner to Canada in September 2021. Ms Goshko was previously Principal Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary, a role that she held for two years covering the COVID pandemic and the merger of the Foreign Office and the Department for International Development. She has spent much of her career working on national security and has had a number of postings in the Americas (twice in Washington and once in Havana). She has also spent time at the Department for Exiting the EU, where she was responsible for setting up the team that led on the Withdrawal Agreement and has been the UK’s Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN Habitat.

Ms Goshko is married to Matt Goshko, a US State Department officer. They have two children.
