A PhD graduate in regional planning at UCLA, Yves Bourgeois is a professor of regional economics specializing in technological disruptions and their impact on value chains and labour markets. He has been awarded several SSHRC grants, and some of his more recent research examines processes of deskilling, reskilling, and upskilling as industries and regions experience digital and green turns. He is now dean of studies at Université de Moncton, campus de Shippagan, where he is leading the implementation of a smart and sustainable shared transportation system for northeastern New Brunswick.
